The pool is rarely the difficult part of a pool project. The surround is: how the deck meets the grade coming off the house, what the coping is made of, where the spa sits, how the whole thing is screened, and where everyone sits when they are not in the water.

We design the landscape and the pool surround together, so the paving, the walls, the planting and the lighting all belong to one scheme. Travertine and natural stone decks, rock grottos and spillways, and lighting that makes the water the centre of the yard once it is dark.

Smaller water carries just as far. A millstone bubbler set into a planting bed beside a patio changes how a garden sounds long before anyone notices how it looks.
